The United Arab Emirates has positioned itself as a global leader in artificial intelligence, becoming the first country in the world to appoint a Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence in 2017. Launched in October 2017, the UAE Strategy for AI aims to achieve the objectives of UAE Centennial 2071, boost government performance, and make the UAE the first in the field of AI investments across various sectors.

Updated in 2023, this strategy outlines eight strategic objectives to position the UAE as a global AI leader by 2031:
